New Delhi: Reserve Bank of India did not attend the first meeting of the empowered committee for resolution of stressed power assets held on Friday, sources said.

The meeting chaired by Cabinet secretary P K Sinha discussed the stress factors in the first meeting and the series of meetings will continue, a source said.

The power ministry had on Wednesday asked RBI to nominate a representative to attend the meeting of the empowered committee for resolution of stressed power assets, upon directions of the Allahabad high court.

“The power ministry shall invite a senior representative of the RBI, after consultation with the governor of RBI, as a member of the high level empowered committee forthwith,” the court order had said.
