Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. (PSPCL ) and Dakshin Haryana
Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has improved their last years
ratings and are covered under A-plus grade in the annual ranking
for the year 2018-19 for their very high operational and financial
performance capabilities.
The annual report was released by the union minister of state for power at the power minister’s conference. 41 Discoms were assessed by
ICRA and CARE Rating for the report on behalf of the Power Finance Corporation.
This year DHBVN is at 5th place while PSPCL is at 6th place.
UHBVN has been covered under an A grade. Last year Punjab was placed at
ninth position while DHBVN and UHBVN of Haryana are placed at
eleventh and sixteenth place in the seventh annual rating.
The eighth rating of Ministry of Power assessed 41 power utilities
of different states and out of these total 6 utilities gets an A+ rating.
Gujarat discoms retained its top performance in the integrated ratings
with all four power distribution utilities of the State topped the
integrated ratings of State discoms.
There were 7 utilities each in A and B plus grade, followed by
9 in B grade, seven in C plus, and five discoms in C grade.
