The All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) on Friday put its weight behind the Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) which has decided that there shall be a complete sit-in protest across J&K against the suspension of 12 engineers on flimsy grounds on 30th March in case the suspension orders are not withdrawn by that time.
A spokesperson of AIPEF V K Gupta, said, “The AIPEF demands that the administration should direct the concerned authorities to withdraw the suspension of the engineers.” In case JKEEGA is forced to adopt an agitational path to get justice then AIPEF and its constituents will support J and K engineers.
Shailendra Dubey Chairman said that power engineers are performing very well and ahead of target. The maximum revenue earned is normally at the end of the financial year and suspension of en-mass engineers will demoralize the entire community.AIPEF supports JK engineers against suspensions on flimsy grounds. The Guidance Council has denounced the action of the state government in strong terms wherein engineers have been cherry-picked and suspended for no fault of theirs without assessing replies furnished by engineers who were earlier served show cause notices. The decision of the government to suspend the twelve Engineers from Junior Engineer to Assistant Ex Engineer is unjustified and devoid of merit. The engineers working in these areas have been made scapegoats for poor infrastructure, lack of adequate staff, and non-metering.
