The All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) on Saturday  extended
its support to farmers' agitation and urged the central government to
scrap the recently enacted farm laws and electricity amendment bill.

A delegation of the All India Power Engineers Federation led by
Shailendra Dubey Chairman  and PSEB Engineers Association
a delegation led by Jasbir Dhiman and Ajaypal Singh Atwal
today reached Singhu border in support of farmers, said V K Gupta
a spokesperson of the federation.
Mr.  Dubey said that power engineers and employees  across the country   fully supports the struggle of farmers and urges the central government to repeal the farming laws  and protect the power subsidy of farmers by withdrawing the
Electricity Amendment Bill, 2020. The struggle of farmers is against the economic policy of the central government which is to favour the corporates and industry leaders to maximise their trading business and profit at the cost of the farming community. After the privatisation of the power sector, the cost of electricity will be beyond the reach of farmers.
PSEB Engineers Association presented a cheque of Rs. one lakh to the farmers
in support of their agitation.Jasbir Dhiman President PSEBEA  said that while the central government has proposed the procedure of DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), this amounts to snatching the subsidy of free power to farmers.
V K Gupta said that the proposal of DBT would lead to huge economic hardship to the farmers .
The move to implement the farming laws and privatisation of electricity which is
seen by the central government as one of the aspects of economic reforms,
will actually give huge trading benefits to the corporates and economically destroy the farmers and common consumers.

The policy of the NDA government to benefit corporates will not only
destroy agricultural activity, it would also compromise the food security of the nation.
