Haryana power sector employees and engineers jointly held a protest gate meeting on Thursday at the circle office in Power complex on Gohana road. The meeting was held on a call given by the National Co-ordination Committee for Electricity Employees and Engineers (NCCOEEE) at all circles. The protesters also submitted a memorandum against the Electricity Amendment Bill, 2018.

The members submitted the memorandum to RK Singh, Union Power Minister, through PK Goyal, superintending engineer (SE), UHBVN. The NCCOEEE has given a two-day work boycott call on January 8 and 9.

KK Malik, General Secretary, HPEA, said employees were against the provisions of the bill, which proposes complete privatisation of power distribution. — TNS
