Kolkata: According to Union power secretary Aloke Kumar, subsidies in the energy sector should be targeted more effectively. He noted that the most important benefits were given to domestic consumers at the 15th India Energy Summit, which was sponsored by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), but that those who have air-conditioners or other equipment should not receive it.Kumar also highlighted the need to reduce transmission and distribution losses by 20 percent to 15, emphasising both the demand and supply sides of energy.Per capita electricity consumption, according to him, should be increased in order to differentiate a developed country from a developing country.

The Union power secretary noted three areas where record demand was anticipated: the first being transportation. He spoke about the construction sector as India is expected to urbanize rapidly in the next two decades and see large-scale development.A huge demand for building materials like steel, cement, and lighting is expected. The third trend in energy development is a potential transition from traditional biomass cooking to clean cooking, according to the author.

Coming to the energy demand side, he said, I hope you'll get to this point.According to Kumar, a prosperous supply roadmap would depend on the latest technologies
